National Logistics Policy is Long-Term Positive for Industry: ICRA

Indian central government launched National Logistics Policy (NLP) in this September 2022 keeping in mind to improve the current scenario of the logistics industry.

Supriyo Banerjee, Vice president and sector head of ICRA(Investment Information and Credit Rating Agency of India) said that “The introduction of National Logistics Policy is a long-term positive for the Indian logistics industry, given its overall focus on attaining better integration of different mode of transportation, which in turn shall lead to faster turn around and higher efficiency”.

He expects this policy will bring down the logistics costs in India and give enough employment opportunities for better skills. Small and medium enterprises will be more competitive along with that it will reduce the fragmentation of the sector.

This NLP will reduce the cost of logistics in India through better connectivity with improved road conditions. It will lead to enhance the ranking of India in the global logistics index. Expecting India to be in the top 25 by 2030(current ranking is 44).

This will also enhance the last mile connectivity that will reduce the over-dependence on road.

Nagpur will unveil India’s 1st four-level transporter corridor.
